Since the first Beaches Conference was held in 2000, people with diverse interests in our beaches and coast have been gathering for the day to share ideas. From coastal property owners and scientists to middle school students and government officials, everyone and anyone who cares about Maine and New Hampshire beaches and the coasts is welcomed to join the conversation.

The 2017 Beaches Conference was held in Wells, Maine on July 14 and our host Natalie Springuel was there. Natalie took part in sessions that explored timely issues including federal funding for coasts, beach erosion trends and how this erosion impacts archeological resources, methods for monitoring beach water quality, and the laws that govern access to the coast in Maine and NH.
