Marine Debris Challenge
You are invited!
We are excited to host the first workshop of the Marine Debris Challenge project on May 30, 2024. Funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Sea Grant Program and coordinated by Maine Sea Grant, the project focuses on reducing marine debris by replacing plastic with sustainable materials from our forests and oceans and exploring reusable food packaging. This workshop will introduce the wide range of packaging alternatives being developed by our research team and solicit feedback from stakeholders and the public on the most promising solutions to reduce packaging waste in Maine’s coastal communities.
