The Port Clyde Fisheries Project envisions the creation of an interactive map of places that are meaningful to the maritime history of the region. This project aims to connect and preserve this history and engage local students, elders, industry, tourism, and technology through creation of an educational, living-history trail to illuminate the active and historic fisheries and heritage sites in and around the town of Port Clyde. Initial work will include the creation and printing of materials, as well as the development and integration of a technology component. Herring Gut Learning Center, an education center in the fishing village of Port Clyde, uses aquaculture and marine science programs to engage at-risk students in grades 6-12.
