Christian Sarro

My name is Christian Sarro, and I am a rising senior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where I am majoring in Environmental Science. My current interests within the major are ecological and water resources conservation, as well as data science and geospatial technology and how they can be used to inform research and policy. My better days are spent cooking, camping, hiking, doing yoga, reading, and getting some sunshine. This summer, I will be working under Ernie Atkinson at the Maine Department of Marine Resources in Jonesboro working on the assessment of habitats and populations of Atlantic Salmon in Downeast Maine. I’m hoping to gain the skills to process field data in ways that can be useful for research, and I am especially looking forward to the deployment, collection, and processing of field loggers over Maine’s coastal rivers.

Christian is a 2021 Undergraduate Intern in Sea-run Fish Research.
