Working Waterfront Access: A Forum on Challenges and Solutions, University of Maine Darling Marine Center, Walpole, Maine, December 17, 2003

On December 17, 2003, the Gulf of Maine Foundation, Maine Sea Grant Marine Extension Team (MET), Maine Coastal Program, and Island Institute co-sponsored a forum, Working Waterfront Access 2003, at the Darling Marine Center in Walpole, Maine. The forum highlighted the value of Maine’s diverse waterfront, and identified challenges and solutions for waterfront-dependent communities and businesses. Working Waterfront Access 2003 shared information and experiences, across industries and communities, about the tools available to shape the future of Maine’s working waterfront. MET members participated on the organizational committee and served as facilitators for the forum, which drew about 70 participants from diverse groups in the state.
