Dr. Taylor Spencer is a Coastal Processes and Engineering Extension Associate with Maine Sea Grant, supporting the Resilient Maine project, a statewide climate initiative led by the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future. Her work focuses on coastal processes, applying expertise in civil engineering and hydrodynamic modeling to help communities plan for sea level rise, flooding, and other climate hazards. A Maine native, Taylor earned her PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Maine in 2025. Her research explored how tides, currents, and freshwater flows influence the transport of pollutants in coastal systems.
