Sophia Tearman

Sophia Tearman is a marine sciences undergraduate student at the University of New England, and she will be graduating in the class of 2025. She strives to continue studying seaweed, specifically sea lettuce, in the Byron lab at UNE. Sophia wants to continue her studies after undergrad and obtain a master’s degree. The Maine Sea Grant Undergraduate Scholarship will allow Sophia to focus more on her academic studies and her undergraduate research endeavors.

Sophia is a 2023 Maine Sea Grant Undergraduate Scholar.
