Marina Schnell

Marina is majoring in human ecology with a concentration in marine ecology and natural history at College of the Atlantic (graduating in 2025). This scholarship will support her study of intertidal organisms on Mount Desert Rock and Mount Desert Island. She is creating a field guide to common marine invertebrates and algae and has a special interest in hydroids, which she is collecting for DNA barcoding. After COA, Marina plans to pursue a Ph.D. in marine biology or ecology, potentially becoming a research consultant for conservation organizations.

Marine is a 2023 Maine Sea Grant Undergraduate Scholar.
