Ilaria Bardini

Ilaria, scuba diver and arthropod enthusiast, is a student at the University of Maine studying Marine Science with a concentration in Marine Biology and a minor in Journalism. She will be graduating in May of 2024 and plans to continue her academic odyssey at graduate school. This summer, she is studying the impacts of rising temperatures on Calanus finmarchicus at the Darling Marine Center. By combining her love for scientific communication and multimedia journalism, Ilaria is creating a documentary on the history of Atlantic Horseshoe crab (Limulus polyphemus) conservation in New England. With the support of the Maine Sea Grant scholarship, Ilaria is excited and thankful to continue her project and have the opportunity to join the Maine Sea Grant Family!
