Delphine Demaisy

Delphine is a junior at College of the Atlantic, where she studies marine science through the interdisciplinary lens of a Human Ecology degree. During her time in Maine, she has immersed herself in the region’s ecology and natural history through her studies, allowing her to share her passion and knowledge with others as a sea kayaking guide. She has notably contributed her data science skills to the collaborative Mapping Ocean Story project and spent time working with data to explore the yearly variation in river herring in a local stream. She has also gained field experience in the Gulf of Maine while at the Edward McC. Blair Marine Research Station on Mount Desert Rock, and at sea for a term with the Sea Education Association in New Zealand. After graduating in 2026, Delphine aspires to pursue a career in oceanographic research, conservation, and outreach. This scholarship will support her tuition for the rest of her undergraduate career and her upcoming adventure at the Kino Bay Research Center in Mexico this fall, where she will be engaging in marine conservation in the region.

Delphine is a 2024 Maine Sea Grant Undergraduate Scholar.
