Autumn Pauley

Autumn Pauly is a third-year student at the College of the Atlantic, where she is majoring in Human Ecology with a concentration in field ecology and natural history. She is expected to graduate in the spring of 2026. The Maine Sea Grant will help to support her research on the transmission of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Herring Gulls at the Alice Eno Research Center on Great Duck Island. Her study focuses on understanding the transmission dynamics of HPAI among Herring Gulls, assessing the impact of the virus on gull populations, and investigating potential environmental factors influencing the spread of the disease. Following her undergraduate studies, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Ecology and Conservation Biology, with the aspiration of teaching at the higher education level. She is eager to participate in workshops and make meaningful contributions and connections within the Sea Grant Family.

Autumn is a 2024 Maine Sea Grant Undergraduate Scholar.
