Aubrey Jane

As a Knauss Fellow at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), Aubrey Jane works to support the development and implementation of dynamic system modeling efforts involving offshore wind (OSW) energy projects. Jane is part of a team evaluating impacts of OSW on the marine environment and working to make the decision-making process better informed and more transparent, as well as leading a project examining stakeholder comments related to OSW and fisheries interactions, with the goal of informing BOEM’s regional studies prioritization and identifying best practices for building relationships between OSW developers and fishermen.

Jane holds a Master’s degree in marine sciences from the University of New England (UNE), where she conducted research on the molecular biology of larval American lobsters and the histopathology of farmed blue mussels. Her current side projects include the development of a histological atlas of the first five stages of American lobster and a study on the molecular underpinnings of rare lobster coloration.
