The University of Maine has been a member of the American Academy for Underwater Sciences (AAUS) since 1996, one of over 120 member organizations who are engaged in underwater research and education. Each year, AAUS hosts a symposium where scientists, students, and diving professionals gather to exchange ideas, discuss current and future research, and refine safety standards for scientific diver conduct and training.
The University of Maine is hosting the 2011 AAUS Symposium.
