Audrey Fox

2025 Maine Sea Grant – NOAA Fisheries Undergraduate Internships in Sea-run Fish Research

Audrey Fox is a senior at the University of New England majoring in Aquaculture and Aquarium Sciences with a minor in Marine Sciences. Her academic and research interests center on fisheries ecology, restorative aquaculture, and fish passage, with a long-term goal of building a career in fisheries biology.

Fox is honored to return for her second summer as a Maine Sea Grant Sea-run Fish Intern. Based out of the Department of Marine Resources Bureau of Sea-run Fisheries and Habitat in Jonesboro, she is working alongside Ernie Atkinson, MS, and John Kocik, PhD, of the NOAA Fisheries Atlantic Salmon Ecosystems Branch. This summer, Fox is continuing her research on habitat conservation and the role of shelter availability in supporting sea-run fish populations in Downeast Maine.

Her internship reflects a deepening commitment to the field and builds on the meaningful work she began during her first season with the program.

Outside of her academic and research pursuits, Fox enjoys fishing, painting, and working as an emergency veterinary technician.

Fox is a 2024 and 2025 Undergraduate Intern in Sea-run Fish Research.
