Allie Ouimet

Allie Ouimet is a junior majoring in marine science at the University of Maine and expects to graduate after Fall 2023. She recently obtained her AAUS Scientific Diving certification with her school’s dive program, which she hopes to tie together with research in grad school. She is especially interested in benthic and polar studies and hopes to dive in Antarctica in the future. The Maine Sea Grant Undergraduate Scholarship will be hugely beneficial in financially supporting her as she does a domestic study away this Fall at Bigelow Laboratory for their Sea Change Semester. There she will be mentored by Dr. Doug Rasher in a research project utilizing scientific diving to study benthic ecology in Maine. She is also excited for the workshops, community and support that come with being a part of the Maine Sea Grant family.
