A Climate Calamity in the Gulf of Maine

In 2015, we began a partnership with Maine-based O’Chang Studios to produce a series of animated videos about climate change in the Gulf of Maine, informed by our work on the Maine’s Climate Future project.

“The Lobster Pot Heats Up” illustrates how climate change affects lobster and the lobster industry.

“Acid in the Gulf,” which describes how ocean acidification affects coastal waters and marine resources, premiered as part of a scientific panel on ocean acidification at the 41st annual Maine Fishermen’s Forum. Maine Sea Grant, Dalhousie University, MEOPAR, NERACOOS, NECAN, NOAA’s North Atlantic Regional Team, and University of Maine Cooperative Extension supported production of Part 2.
