Coastal Conversations Radio Program: Experience Maritime Maine
What do the words Maritime Heritage mean to you? Do these words conjure windjammers and wooden boats, or lighthouses and whales? Do you think: island communities, shell middens, or working waterfronts?
This is Natalie Springuel, from the University of Maine Sea Grant, host of Coastal Conversations. On our next program, we will Experience Maine’s Maritime heritage with: Kathy Goldner of Penobscot Marine Museum, Meg Maiden of Maine Windjammers Association, Brook Minner of Northeast Historic Films, Rich Hilsinger of Wooden Boat School.
These folks are all part of the Experience Maritime Maine initiative, a partnership of maritime related organizations, businesses and coastal communities working together to promote and preserve our unique maritime culture through heritage tourism efforts.
As always, your insights, experience, and questions are welcome as part of the conversation. So, make a note to tune in Friday morning, February 26, 10-11 AM when this month’s Coastal Conversation is about Experience Maritime Maine. Only on WERU community radio, 89.9 FM in Blue Hill and 99.9 in Bangor, and online at WERU.org.
